Monday, May 4, 2015 - Started off to a choppy start, a distinct cork smell plagued the nose, not tca corked, but literally smelled like the cork stopper. Air seemed to help a little as the scent faded somewhat, but it still present for the duration of the night. Rather a shame, as the palate itself was very good. While on the rich side, it still had a lot quality Sav Blanc characteristics, slightly grassy, chlorophyll, pronounced mineral edge, and a beautiful golden color. The back half carried a smoky, almond filled finish that avoided any oxidative traits (which I generally do not like). Hard to say where this goes from here, so I will err on the side of caution and drink my other bottle within the next 2 years. Had the nose been performing, this could have really been excellent.
