Friday, September 27, 2013 - Interesting wine and very good for the price.
The nose is good, mineral, saline, with hints of oak, apple , lemon, with a tinge of sweetness, toffee, vanilla. Palate is similar, lovely balance, nice apple, lemon fruit with zingy mineral, apple/lemon acidity, same toffee, vanilla hints on the finish. Absolutely delicious.
I've not drank a tonne of white Burg but...I can tell this is not Puligny. The palate is close, but there is a slight coarseness both to the nose and palate that betrays a lesser appellation. For the price though, this is fantastic. So much better than most of the US chard's I've tried as well.
