2005 Domaine des Baumard Savennières

Community Tasting Note

Saturday, May 8, 2010 - Absolutely textbook example of Savennières from color to nose to palate; slightly platinum and straw hues. Nose was expressive with deep minerality, wet stone, warm wax, wool, fig, porcini and chamomile. The palate is dry, rich, round and complex with developed characteristics and beautiful acidity: fig, creme brulee, apple, pear, honey, stone and an underlying minerality as the foundation. I love the consistency, complication of and involvedness of senses that I experience with this wine. An instant classic from the first time I tasted it.
