Initial tastes were red fruits and an overwhelming alcoholic heat. This eventually burned off. The wine needed at least 2 hours to open, and once it did, the notes were milk chocolate, camphor, tobacco, ripe plums and a hint of tart cherries and alcohol on the finish. The acids are soft and integrated. This is a huge, chewy wine, but too alcoholic. A couple of more years in bottle will help.
