Wednesday, May 14, 2014 - Tasted blind at the "Rhone Wine tasting" conducted at the Bistro Provence, Bethesda
Color very dark, some purple at the rim;
"Young wine" feel on the nose, quite grapey with tannin, fruit and acidity; surprisingly soft on the palate, then comes some tannin.
after a while it seemed to become more one-dimensional and noticeably sweeter on the palate.
I seemed to smell/taste some Grenache and went to the Southern Rhone… Only 7000 miles off… should have ben more suspicious when the wine seemed to turn sweeter...
