Friday, November 27, 2009 - i was completely impressed with this wonderful Bordeaux. Many beautiful dark fruits, spice box tobacco etc to be found. Since I haven't cracked my 2000 bottles yet I would say 3rd best bottle of red following a 2001 Ornelia in 1st and a 2001 Oreno in 2nd. Props to the Bartons for making such a wonderful, age-able Bordeaux. It had a beautiful mouth coating tannin as well as perfect acid balance, too bad I can't say the same for the '98 taitinger comtes blanc de blanc that followed a couple of hours later.
