Sunday, February 24, 2013 - Cork wet through and crumbly. Disintegrated requiring a decant upon opening about an hour before drinking. Clear mid garnet. Smells promising. Opens up over three hours to show a classic mature Rioja orange peel nose with coffee grounds, spices and caramel. Similar range of subtle flavours on the palate, light, fragrant, good acidity but not thin or sharp - nicely rounded with good mid-palate complexity and a persistent finish. After one corked, one oxidised and one ok but not great bottle, number four is really super. Proper mature Tondonia on fine form. Top ****
