87 Points

Saturday, November 27, 2004 - Medium cherry color, slightly lightening at the edge. Sweet, oaky, but somewhat muddled aromas of rasberry, cherry, vanilla oak and leather. Oaky on the palate, with cherry, vanilla, toast, sweet rasberries, tea flavors that are medium bodied, and well balanced with excellent length to the flavors, with toasty notes at the end. Melted tannins, this tastes mostly ready to drink.. For me, the oak detracts and ruins the clarity of the wine, and I would have never pegged this as a Volnay, but Jane thought it was delicious.
