Tuesday, September 11, 2012 - Unmistakeably GC from the first sip. Sappy without any sweetness, this shows a nice balance between mixed red and black fruit and tertiary development, with plenty of gamey beef-jus, a faint hint of mushroom and just a general Gevrey rusticity to it that is very nice. A hint of low-char oak, but nothing obtrusive. Excellent concentration for a medium bodied wine. I understand Gelin is considered to be one of the weakest producers of Beze, which surprises me - this is better than many a GC bottle I've had from second-tier GC's in the hands of well-regarded producers. I guess the terroir shows through.
