Tuesday, December 1, 2009 - Gorgeous jewel-like color, not as purple as some southern Rhône wines. Excellent balance of fruit (cherries and strawberries) with layered tannins that come through at the finish. I was surprised to read it is 85% Grenache because the Syrah seems so present. A delicious mouthful, a bit chewy on the finish. At $16 a value. Next day, same impression: not Rhône-like at all. Modern style? Still tasty, in any case.
