Tuesday, July 2, 2013 - Popped and poured. Medium deep gold. Rather closed on the nose; on the palate, typical Kistler structure and intensity; long finish, but at least initially not particularly interesting. Powerful but not bright. Perhaps will improve with air; this bottle is not oxidized or over the hill. As it warmed up and aired this became more interesting and also was much better with food; still a powerful wine at age 8 but unclear where it will go from here.
