Thursday, January 17, 2013 - Another year later, and I just opened the second bottle. At first, I was concerned because the wine was closed and hot. After about an hour the wine was really nice with a good amount of red fruit on the palate. The finish was subsiding by the end of the evening (+6 hours after opening), so I think the wine is beginning it's peak drinking window. I have one more bottle I will hold for another year (why not), but I think this wine is drinking well now.

Note from bottle consumed on 1/12/2012:
This wine needs time. The longer I decanted, the better it tasted. After two hours I started to taste the big red fruit that's hidden behind the tannins. The color was crimson red with strawberry and spice on the nose. By the end of the evening, I was hooked. This is a nice red that I had not had before. (92 Points)
