Saturday, June 18, 2011 - Tasted blind, this wine had a medium yellow center and clear rims. The high intensity nose showed classic Raveneau honey suckle, apple, and white stone.

Overall the wine was nice out of the gate but the acidity and length improved dramatically with 3+ hours of air. It was rich and ripe in the mouth but still svelte and had great finishing acidity. In addition to the flavors noted in the nose there was just a hint of toffee to add complexity. As I have said before, even the professionals often don't give wines like this enough air time to evolve. This is drinking well with 3+ hours of air or aged 5+ years in the cellar.
