Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, July 16, 2013 - I was looking for a bottle and found this one. Pity I did not read my previous note; I should have waited a bit longer. Ok, the wine is drinking well right now; full bodied with black forest fruits and supple and round tannin. But it is all a bit one dimensional at the moment. I think that with more age it will show more finesse and complexity. I really should put my last bottle far away, so I will not touch it before 2016 or 2017.

I remember tasting this about 3 or 4 years ago and thinking what potential it had, but needed at least 10 years in bottle until I'd contemplate drinking it. I'd be inclined to wait until at least 2020 based on some recent McLaren and Barossa tastings of wines from the late 90s.

As you can see this was an almost two years old note which I forgot to put in CT in time and in the meantime I drank my last bottle…. Luckily I still have a few other (and even better) Glaetzer wines to look forward to. But good you were wise enough to hide yours. Cheers! Zweder.
