Monday, May 12, 2003 - Tasted at the Denver offline with WIML on 5/12/03.
This was a last minute addition to the appetizer wines. Because of the last minute nature, it was decanted for an hour at most before tasting, and maybe not even that long.
This wine was way too young to open under these conditions. It was still very tight, and obviously needed more time in the decanter, or just more time. Black pepper, earth and black fruits which were just beginning to show themselves. Hint of tar on the long finish, and hints of some lighter red fruits too. We committed infanticide with this wine.
We did go back and try this wine again at the end of the night, but any notes would be well beyond reliable.
