Friday, November 15, 2013 - Deep, elegant, still fresh nose. Complex with tantalizing notes of roasted hazelnuts, gun-powder, stony minerals and pure apple and pear fruits. Very balanced.
Fullish, austere body with tremendous fruit and concentration. Elegance and perfect acidic grip. Citrus, fresh yellow apple, roasted hazelnuts, gently oaky. A splendid balancing act of full body, austerity, nuttiness and a long minerally finish. Exactly as a white burg should appear. This is competing with GC-level Batard from weaker producers.
It is hazardous to wait more than 10 years with white Burgs, but what a reward when avoiding the Premox trap! Perfect right now.
