1987 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon

Community Tasting Note

94 Points

Sunday, December 19, 2010 - Tasted this blind against another cabernet, also tasted blind. I guessed the latter to be an '88 Oakville cab, and it was unveiled to be the '87 Sequoia Grove Estate (Oaklville). The Corison smelled and tasted like a really well-evolved and maintained '94, if not younger. Striking floral-cassis-vanilla perfume, silky palate. Not having been a fan of the Corisons lately (post 1994) I'm now thinking I should open those '99's I've been avoiding.
