Friday, October 25, 2013 - Popped and poured a ruby with with brick edging. The cork smelled distinctly of vinegar, but the wine didn't seem to have the same odor. In the glass, the wine was watery and flat and flabby with dull muted fruit. Came quite close to dumping the bottle here (I would have rated it about an 80 at this point, more than 10 lower than past bottles). The decision to let it sit and move on to another bottle was a sound decision. An hour later, the wine had opened to a wonderful medium bodied wine with avery pleasant mouth feel. Scents of cherries, tastes of cherry and hints of oak. We would never have thought that any wine could encompass such massive improvement, truly surprising!
