Saturday, November 16, 2013 - Tasted next to an NV Moet Chandon. Veuve makes so many cases of this a year that the quality varies between bottles. Golden straw, fine bead, medium mousse. Typical Veuve aromas of stonefruit and apples, citrus and brioche, vanilla and yeast. The palate was good but lacked freshness and the typical vibrancy and energy you've come to expect from good NV champagne. Can't see it happening anytime soon but we need disgorgement dates on NV bottles... wankers.
