Friday, August 5, 1988 - Clear purple red and not extremely dark. Powerful bouquet with liquorice, cassis, tobacco, cigar box and lead pencil. A firm dose of tannin which is powerful as well as supple. Good acidity, cassis, liquorice and luxury oak in the taste. Long aftertaste in perfect harmony with the rest of the wine. Very impressive for the vintage.
