Monday, May 28, 2012 - Big nose of ripe dark fruit, cocoa and tobacco. The palate was thin initially, but really grew after 30 minutes. Showed best after 2hrs with a double decant. Very dark purple with almost no bricking. Typical insignia style with plenty of dark fruits and earthy chocolate notes. Soft tannins. Secondary notes are starting to show. Some detectable heat on the finish, but overall a nice wine for a 2000.
