Tuesday, March 11, 2008 - I started off thinking this was a really interesting and different Syrah. Notes of dill, stewed fruit, toasted cheese and even hot dog on the palate. On the second night the nose was initially redolent of cedar/canning room. Ultimately, however, I concluded it was almost certainly past peak. There were just too many off flavors in it. I was wary of the older vintage (for a new world wine) and I guess I was right to be so. Pretty sure this bottle has fallen apart.
