Thursday, May 1, 2008 - Like the last bottle, thirty minutes certainly benefited the wine, but it really didn’t come into it’s own until the second day. A marked improvement over day one. The nose was a little subdued with hints of dark cherry and peppery spice. Full, rounded and mellow in the mouth, with a kirsch like finish that is short to medium in length. I had thought the wine still a bit harsh and closed on the first day, but really liked it on day two. That said, I think this is as good as it gets. The fruit was degraded somewhat with soft tannins, so I don’t see this going anywhere but down.
