Sunday, January 25, 2009 - Really loved this last March when tasting in the Valley and wanted to see what close to a year had done to this bottle and it has toned down a bit, but in a good way. Notes from Day 2. Deep purple in color with violet on the rim. Nose is blackberry, cedar, hints of quality tobacco. On the palate the fruit is still lush with dark fruit blackberry, black raspberry, a little greenish flavor, a little cedar in there as well towards the end. The finish is average in length with nice chewy tannins on the back end. No heat and good quality oak treatment here (not overdone). Well made WA merlot and right for the price. No long term storage in this wines future drink in the next 12 months. 50+5+12+16+7
