For the longest time, this was lean and sinewy, with strong acids, soil notes, and drying tannins. After it was open for over 3 hours, faint cherry fruit emerged and it seemed less skeletal. Structured like a Nebbiolo from a not particularly ripe vintage, this was interesting at times and a reasonable beverage with lamb chops, but it never quite inched into the realm of pleasurability for me.
