Monday, June 8, 2015 - Pristine bottle, cork intact, fully soaked and fragrant as a mature super second left bank bordeaux. Decanted and aerated for two hours then drank over another two hours. Not a hint of decline in this wonderful wine now at its plateau of maturity. Some bricking in the deep ruby color, excellent nose of cassis, leather, wet earth, graphite, black currants, pipe tobacco. On the palate wonderfully balanced, some complexity mid palate, very good acidity and backbone to the wine, gained weight while in decanter, medium to full bodied, coats the palate and a glycerin like finish with fully resolved tannins. Excellent wine, as good as any super second Pauillac.
