Wednesday, December 30, 2015 - Barolo gathering - 85 Giacosa SS, 64 G. Conterno, 89 B Mascarello, 04 Monfortino and etc. (Da Domenico Ristorante, Mclean, VA): Pop and pour. The biggest scale Barolo of my life. Incredibly youthful intense nose displaying decadent red fruits, dry black cherry, balsamico, iron, mineral and root beer. Unbelievable concentration, incredibly layered fruit, intense sweet black cherry driven palate impression, bright acidity, the opulent fruit completely masking the tannins, strong presence of irony mineral and never ending finish. Obviously very young and primary but also incredibly enjoyable for my palate.
