Friday, February 13, 2015 - This was absolutely singing tonight. A dead ringer for a top-flight classically styled right bank Bordeaux. Voluptuous dark fruits flowing with cassis and herbal undertones that provide a cooling eucalyptus-like sensation on the palate. Chewy tannins fill out the great structure which just oozes across the palate and prop up the fruit.
I preferred this to the '99 VCC, '96 l'Evangile and '06 Gazin consumed in recent months. I frequently hear that Joguet has become a shell of what it once was. I wish I could have known those earlier days because I keep finding stellar bottles from the domain spanning recent vintages.
