Thursday, January 29, 2009 - This was dark, opaque. The nose had that toasted earth kind of thing going on. There were also elements of violets, melted bacon fat, licorice, and minerals. On the palate, the tannins were somewhat elevated, and there was a bit of austerity to the wine. This was more medium in body with a leanness to it. The wine was sound, good not great, but hard as nails.
