Saturday, July 15, 2006 - Wow! What a difference a good bottle makes! The previous bottle I had left a note on was cooked, not so with this beauty. Color is deep golden. Nose shows lemon oil, caramel, vanilla, and a touch of smoke. On the palate, intense creamy lemon flavors are met with toast and a judicious amount of oak. Also, as with many older Chardonnays, there is a hint of Sherry to the palate. Acidity is still very present and balances well. Thanks to Bill Wood for this great New World Chardonnay.
