94 Points

Saturday, August 14, 2010 - Decanted and consumed (without any waiting time in the decanter) over 3 hrs. Aroma of dark fruit and plum fills the cellar when pouring into the decanter. Although the wine starts out like a very young calicab, it doesn't take more than 45 mins for this to begin toning down significantly. While dark fruits, cedar and currants remain strong components, the incredibly-sweet tanins and an a little glycerin add a dimension and depth, along with a 45+ second finish. If you hold some of the wine in your mouth you can actually taste layers of wood - like grains - building over time. Solid wine with many years still ahead of it. While this started as a 91, it ended as a 94.
