Sunday, April 22, 2012 - Ran thru the Vinturi into the decanter. Muted nose of red fruits currant and cherry, detected some black fruit on the back end. Heavy on herbal flavors, acidity, currant/red fruit flavors. Excellent fine grained tannins. Excellent job on the oaking, did not kill the fruit. Wine peaked in the decanter in about 2 hours. Had with some grilled rack of lamb and it was the perfect choice match with the acid/tannins balancing the fatty NZ Lamb. Really enjoyed this choice over a Napa Cab as the Chilean wines tend to have the better acid/tannin/alc balance for food pairings.
