Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - Had this standing up for a while, finally got around to it with a lamb rack. Interesting wine, the nose was fantastic when we got to it, about an hour after pulling the cork. On the nose, menthol and soil morphs into licorice; tar and smoke - it almost reminded me of lapsang suchong tea. I spent a long time on the nose, it's so good. On the palate, it's almost weightless, not heavy at all; at 10 years, this is much closer to claret than napa cab. Very juicy but finish length a bit short
