This was a glass pour from the bottle and was tasted over four hours, I believe the bottle was opened two hours prior.

At this price point, Grange deserves 20 years in the cellar before opening your first bottle. There are many more less expensive wines to open earlier.

We purchased a '96 for dinner that night, decanted and consumed over 4 hours. Decanters are a great way to enjoy the development of wine over time as it is exposed to air.

I have purchased older vintages to drink whilst I wait for the younger bottles to mature, it all depends on your palate preferences as to whether you drink younger or older bottles, and the quality of the wine to improve with age.
