Monday, February 22, 2016 - A very nice Corton, reflective of the warm vintage. The wine is very dark, almost black with hints or rouge. Upon opening, aromas of dark cherries and Asian spice jump from the bottle. It also tastes like its smells with a fair bit of concentration and silky smooth tannins. The tannins are very well integrated. However, I found the sweetness of the wine to be a bit overwhelming. The pronounced red liquorice notes seemed to overwhelm or mask the wine's subtle complexity. A really nice, but not exceptional, wine that is drinking perfectly right now.
