Saturday, December 22, 2012 - Like most 2000 Bordeaux, this wine was super tight and nearly undrinkable in its youth. But we've tasted this a few times in the past year, and it has really come into its own. The structure is magnificent -- you could use some of the timber to build a house -- yet it is in concert with the fruit and perfectly balanced. The wine improved with breathing but has easily a decade or two ahead of it. Would be ideal with grilled red meat. I suggest decanting for 2 hours before drinking.
