Sunday, July 18, 2010 - Very dark red with no signs of aging. Aromas of cherry, currant, perfume, and flowers. Medium plus weight with a great lush palate feel. The balance is what makes this wine great. The ripe tannins, acid, fruit, and alcohol all work together. The finish rolls on with sweet ripe tannins. This wine still needs another couple of years before it really hits its stride, and every time I try the 2000's, I'm forced to push my drinking window back. At a 2000 Bordeaux tasting on release in 2002 the Lynch was was the most accessible of the major Chateaus. Push your 2000 drinking window back to 2013!!! (originally 2007).
