90 Points

Sunday, December 25, 2005 - medium bodied, dark inky purple color......nose is somewhat slight and mostly of coal, tar, tobacco, and earth. The fruit, mostly raspberry, is not clearly evident until the finish. Most of the concentrated flavors are of smoky cedar, tobacco, oak, and saddle leather. Tannins are not in your face, but are clearly present. Finish lasts about 30 seconds. This needs some more time. Did not open at all the first night, very little the next day. I'm glad that I have another bottle. I'll give it at least another 5 years unless I buy more. 90 now, potential for 93
