Thursday, April 5, 2007 - Drank for Katie's birthday at Le Pavillon w/ Steve. We single decanted this after a '98 Cos d'Estournel, which was a terrible idea because the Cos showed this wine up. The Gruaud Larose had a beautiful dark purple color. Seemed a little backwards for me, and didn't seem to open up like I'd thought it would after a few hours. The nose was almost tomatoey (if that's even possible). Dark fruits, smokey, with a decent finish. (7 views)
