Tuesday, April 15, 2014 - Drank from magnum. Not as nice as the previous bottle but maybe I should have decanted and aerated longer than an hour or two. 4 hours like the last time. Still lots of charm on this wine, nice ruby color with some bricking, beautiful nose of cassis, dark red berries, leather, spice and crushed stones, reflected nicely on the palate, mid bodied, not overly complex but nicely structured, good acidity and minerality, decent finish although tannins slightly more granular this time. Medium to full bodied. Pairs nicely with ribeye.
