Thursday, December 31, 2015 - 15.6% alcohol. Bottle 2096 of 6619. Youthful purple, color. Dark cherry and plum on the nose blended with floral notes, soy, green peppercorn, and a touch of wood. The palate took about 30 minutes to open, but when it did, it pumped out dark fruit, lavender, spice, green tobacco, and pepper. Structurally, this medium-bodied wine has balanced acidity and fully integrated tannins. The finish maintains the fruit intensity and supports a complex herbal note. Overall, I was very impressed by the balance and complexity of this wine, and if one wants a complex example of this varietal, I would not hesitate to put this on the table.
