Likes this wine:

Tuesday, July 7, 2015 - Immensely impressive. Striking color - I stopped counting at ten shades of red-orange; bright and clear, though virtually no bricking/tawny. Served double-blind, I was thinking mid-70s in the very first moments I saw it poured - with the light catching it just so as it moved from the bottle into the glass, but after smelling and tasting, I hedged my bet to '85 (even though it could easily have passed for a 10 yr old wine based on sight alone. An early note of dill is gone in a flash, followed by armpit, a whiff of VA (also gone very quickly), cigar ash. With just a few minutes of swirling, all of that is gone and the crunchy, somewhat high-toned red fruits come washing in. What follows is a story - a book - more than it is an article or report, because this just seems to keep evolving, keep unfolding, and by the 2hr mark, I get notes of caramel, butterscotch and black raspberry. 13,0% abv.; this has another decade or two - for those with fortitude - and no doubt some positive evolution is in the cards. highly recommended

Double-decanted at 5pm, served double-blind at 630pm and followed for the next 2+ hours.
