90 Points

Thursday, February 4, 2010 - Quite shy at first, but after an hour or so this really started to strut its stuff. Very rich, sweet blackberry and plum nose with some obvious but fairly gentle oaking, alcohol showing through a little but not too much - very potent. It's the mouthfeel that makes this, though - quite dense but very silky, soft tannins but they're there, very rich mid-palate and a slightly bitter finish (in a nice way) that hangs around. Shockingly easy to drink for the 14.5% that it is, a lovely bottle and an excellent value.
