Friday, January 6, 2012 - Popped and poured. From the start this was firing on all cylinders. Soaring nose of dried red florals, bright, cool red fruit, and a roasted mushroom undertone that was sublime. The palate was balanced and impressive with wonderful florals - a hallmark of this monopole from Volnay. Loved the subtle dried tobacco, exotic spiciness and searing acidity on the finish. Wish I had bought more of these...
