Community Tasting Note

Thursday, November 27, 2014 - Wow. This is one big Pinot. Drank over two days. Concentrated and intense, highly aromatic, with sweet dark fruits and spice trouncing all over a few herbal notes in the background. There is some mid palate depth and enough acid to keep this from being too sweet or flabby, but this wine just walked all over the duck we had. This vintage is really coming across as a cocktail wine to be drank on its own, rather than a food wine. It is tasty and pleasurable, but would possibly pair better if you considered it more like a Syrah. Day two- the entry and mid palate soften and lose a little energy, the acid continues to keep the wine in check. Still prefer this wine as a solitary drink on day two.
