Tuesday, December 16, 2014 - Have a friend whose favorite Carlisle vintage is '06. Since he was coming over decided to pull my last bottle of '06 zins. This was in excellent shape. What I liked best about it was that while most zins hit you right up from with a big statement and then drink like the nose in terms of flavor, this Carlisle Vineyard was far more layered and revealed more on the palate. Purple fruit core, but has some loam and dust to give the midpalate more nuance. I like this right where it is. Wouldn't recommend holding too much longer.
