Tuesday, August 28, 2012 - The first night I was disappointed that this didn't live up to the bottle I had a year ago. The complexity was absent and it tasted like an average cab/syrah blend. The second night, however, it all came back and drank wonderfully. Complex and earthy on the nose with sweet dried papaya, tanned leather, stewed plums and berries, and clove cigarettes. Medium-plus weight in the mouth with nice grip and acidity that leaves the fruit slathered over the inside of the mouth. Plenty of flavor on the finish.
I would let these sit for a few more years or give a long decant.
