Saturday, November 15, 2008 - Typical Montrose - dark purple colors, dark cherry nose with just a hint of barnyard, medium body, lean structured dark berry flavors with some tar and leather in the background. Age has added a brickish edge to the color and the tannins have softened over the years. Not quite fully balanced, the fruit is slightly overshadowed by the tannins. Did not improve much after the first 30 min. I would drink up soon while the fruit remains.
