Wednesday, August 24, 2011 - Pop and pour. Intoxicating nose of raspberries and cinnamon bark. I favor heavier pinots than many so wasn't sure I'd enjoy this based on what I've heard about Rhys but it's fantastic. Initially a touch of cola that went away very fast. There's plenty of raspberry that fades to tart cherries and fantastic earthiness. The acidity is plenty present but complements the fruit wonderfully. The finish is intensely long and interesting with baking chocolate, black cherries and soil. Fantastic wine!
