I expected this coming into it, but I had some of the other TJ private label stuff (2008 Vintjs Syrah for example) which were quaffable. I used this wine to try out the Vinturi aerator that I got for xmas this year. Some berry fruit roll up aromas with some green stems. In the mouth there is some initial fruit, but it devolves into a mess of tannins and herbs. Unpleasant finish. Both the pop-n-pour and Vinturi'd glasses were bad, with the Vinturi coming out the worst (two blind tasters). The Vinturi just made the tannins even more apparent. Seriously there are much better Spanish or Portuguese red wines for $4-5.
